Last week, Prospere Magazine asked its readers how they felt about West Virginia politician, Jeff Eldridge’s proposed ban on the sale of Barbies in the state. Close to 40% of you, at 37.5%, believed that his proposal was sexist, since he didn’t call for a ban on violent video games, predominantly played by boys. These video games are often seen as being a bad influence on young people as well. There were some of you, at 25%, who thought that if Barbie is banned, then so should fashion magazines, television and so forth, since models and many actresses and singers are very thin (and therefore, a bad influencce) as well. Nobody agreed with Jeff Eldridge outright, but another 37.5% of you chose “other.” Perhaps you’d be interested in discussing this?
