Sad That Kids Don't Know How to Hold Cutlery: Poll

Last week, Prospere Magazine asked whether readers thought it young elementary school aged kids should know how to properly use a fork and knife (this was after seeing the second episode of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, where the kids didn’t look like they knew how to properly hold utensils).  It was not suprising that most readers thought it was sad.  70% thought it was sad – if a 3 year old kid in Japan could hold chopsticks, then a 6 year old kid in the US can use a knife and fork.  10% believed that it was a good thing as it would make food more enjoyable and healthy and 20% believe that younger kids might not need to learn (yet), but a kid in Grade 2 (age 7) should know.
